Bitcoins pris nådde sitt høyeste nivå siden slutten av 2017 denne onsdagen: $ 18.400, som er bare under $ 1.500 på vei til å nå den historisk høyeste prisen. Etter å ha nådd $ 18.400, led Bitcoin en nedgang og svingte deretter rundt $ 18.000. Noen analytikere mener at $ 18 000 vil være en tøff linje å bryte.

Den ukentlige gjennomsnittsprisen på BTC denne uken er $ 16,789, og økte 8,55% fra forrige uke ($ 15,467). I mellomtiden har BTC-prissvingningene økt. Disse viser alle en aktiv markedsfølelse.

O CEO da OKEx Jay Hao fala sobre a recente suspensão da retirada e segurança dos ativos criptográficos na plataforma

A OKEx anunciou recentemente que o serviço de retirada de criptogramas será restaurado na plataforma até 27 de novembro, após mais de um mês de suspensão. A notícia chegou como um alívio para seus usuários.

Retail investors can now legally invest in crypto currencies in the Netherlands.

The BLOX crypto exchange has been given the green light to operate in the Netherlands, making it the first consumer-oriented platform to receive clearance in the country after the country has implemented the European Union’s fifth Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5).

„BLOX is the first crypto-company tailored for retail investors to be entered in the register of the Dutch Central Bank“, the trading platform announced in a blog entry published today. It goes on to say: „This registration is mandatory in the Netherlands for any company that wants to enable its users to buy, sell, trade and hold crypto-currencies“.

The Dutch-based crypto service provider AMDAX BV was the first company to make the headlines in October of this year to receive the relevant approval, but the AMDAX is aimed primarily at large investors. „The AMDAX offers investments from 2.5 Bitcoin upwards for companies and private investors who have a portfolio“, as it had written in its October announcement. 2.5 BTCs have a current equivalent value of almost 30,000 US dollars.

A list of approved crypto service providers by De Nederlandsche Bank NV, the central bank of the Netherlands, includes Blox BV and Anycoin Direct, which has also received its approval.

„BLOX enables small investors to invest in digital currencies from as little as 1 euro“, as the crypto exchange explains in its blog entry. It concludes: „With its approval, the Dutch central bank has thus made crypto-currencies available to the general public.

Meanwhile, Deribit, a trading platform for crypto-derivatives, had fled the Netherlands in January 2020 to avoid having to comply with the stricter requirements of the new money laundering directive.

The US shows the way forward – The growing use of cryptocurrencies highlights new issues, especially in terms of taxation. Thus, several exchange platforms are closely observed by the authorities, with the aim of detecting possible irregularities.

Cryptos, an asset like any other in the eyes of the tax authorities

Tax Law Office is a tax firm specializing in wealth management and tax optimization. Its leader, David W. Klasing , reminded his clients that many people hold cryptocurrencies and often forget to declare them to the tax authorities. Quoted by CoinTelegraph , he explained that some investors do it knowingly, while others simply ignore the regulations.

Cryptocurrencies have a reputation as a “separate” asset , which can make it seem easy to hide from taxes . However, the majority of investors use brokers or trading platforms to make their trades. These platforms are regulated according to the standards of the country and actively collaborate with the authorities. In the United States , for example, tax lawyers have reported noticing an increase in inquiries from the IRS (the US tax authorities) to them.

Coinbase leads by example

Last month, Coinbase released a transparency report aimed at demonstrating its active collaboration with governments around the world. The report revealed 1,914 requests , issued by “legitimate governments” in countries where Coinbase operates. These requests mainly take the form of „subpoenas“ , but also „search warrants“ . According to the firm, 90% of these requests were made by the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.

The publication of this report serves several purposes. First of all, Coinbase wishes here to embody righteousness and compliance, by agreeing to collaborate with different governments. Then, this report takes the form of an awareness campaign for people who forgot to report all cryptocurrency income.

Finally, the transparency report shows American dominance in the requests made. Indeed, this massive request from the IRS aims to recover as much information as possible on taxpayers‘ assets. This will compare Coinbase’s data with that reported by Americans. This process will help to detect possible irregularities.

Uniswap had failed to validate a first proposal from the community a few weeks ago. And the decentralized exchange runs into difficulties again, since a second vote was rejected.

New vote and new failure for Uniswap

This second Uniswap governance proposal was again published by Dharma. This involved distributing UNI tokens to Uniswap users, as had already been the case last September , when they were launched. The beneficiaries were then able to receive 400 UNI each. This new airdrop was intended for users who had interacted with Bitcoin Code through a proxy contract, and who had therefore not been detected by the first airdrop. A total of 12,619 addresses would each have received 400 UNI .

But the distribution of UNI to the damaged addresses will not take place. The vote of governance uniswap failed again, for the same reasons as the first vote. The community was overwhelmingly in favor of the new airdrop, with 37,555,068 “For” votes and 1,280,632 “Against” votes. But the votes in favor did not reach the necessary threshold of 40,000 UNI tokens, so the ballot was canceled just like the first.

The governance of Uniswap in question

As a reminder, the first vote was precisely to lower the threshold to 30,000 UNI tokens to validate a decision. If this had been accepted, this second vote would also have been validated. All this therefore gives rise to new questions about the governance of Uniswap. How can a protocol make changes if it fails to make the number of tokens necessary to validate them?

For now, Uniswap does not seem threatened by this limitation: we learned last week that $ 3 billion in cryptocurrency was now locked in its services . But how long will it last?

If this blockage persists with the next governance votes, Uniswap will have to face an uncomfortable reality and consider solutions that will go through a means other than a democratic vote … And perhaps trigger the opprobrium of the crypto community, which had already noted that Uniswap was less decentralized than it appears . The situation is therefore particularly delicate.
